Bring coal mining history and culture directly to your classroom, club, or organization through our free educational traveling trunk known as "Coal Camp Voyage." This trunk will engage, entertain, and educate.
"Coal Camp Voyage" tells the story of coal mining in Southeast Kansas. You will learn about working in a mine and the lifestyle of the miners and their families. Manuals are included to explain about coal mining in our region and include some activities for classrooms.
In addition, Miners Hall Museum can also schedule docents to visit for a one-hour presentation concerning Southeast Kansas coal mining and its effect on the area.
"Coal Camp Voyage" is brought to you by Miners Hall Museum Foundation through a grant from the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas. Tour forms are included with the trunk if you are interested in visiting our museum.

We can connect your group with a variety of renowned local speakers for topics including the Amazon Army, Miners House restoration, local mining history, Franklin history and the formation of the Miners Hall Museum.

Tours are provided at no charge. Donations are accepted and appreciated. Please call the office or email for a tour form. Bus tours are welcome. We offer trained docents who will guide and entertain your group.
The restored Miners House is available for scheduled guided tours at no charge. Contact us (620-347-4220 or minershallmuseum@gmail.com) to schedule your tour.
Coal Camp is an outdoor walking tour that is available at any time for a self-guided tour or we are happy to schedule a guided tour of the area.

MHMs Quarterly Exhibits are known for providing informative exhibits and entertaining monthly programs, drawing in standing room only crowds. Individual speakers, panels, and performers have graced our stage for these programs while engaging their audience.
Franklin Community Park Reservations
Reserve Franklin Community Park for your upcoming events. We offer a covered pavilion with tables and seating for 100+ guests. The park also features a barbecue pit, bathrooms, playground equipment, bocce courts, basketball, horseshoe pits, a short walking path and much more to make your visit enjoyable.
There is no fee for reservations, however, donations are accepted and appreciated. Contact the office to check availability and a reservation form will be sent to you!
